Hi, I just got the Samsung Nexus S about a week ago. It's all touch and I'm using the eyes-free virtual keyboard to navigate everything. The major drawback to this keyboard is its inability to navigate menu and option screens, is there an alternative keyboard I can download? Also, does anyone know if 4.0 ICS will make apps like facebook and netflix at least somewhat accessible? Any help is appreciated.
To use the eye's free keyboard for navagating, one, you need to enable the vertual d-pad, second, the eye's free keyboard has the menu key, back, and home, I would touch explore your screen to find the buttons. I take you know how to use the touch explore? If not then on the eye's free mailing list some people have your phone and can bee of help to you. I still am with gengerbred with a my touch 4G, so no go with icecream sandwidge.
No I'm with sprint so haven't got ICS yet, I'll give it a chance but am seriously considering switching back to iphone at this point. It also doesn't help that facebook and netflix are purely inaccessible, a huge drawback. The Samsung Nexus S is extremely fast, but from what I've found, the accessibility of droid hasn't developed into a truly capable screen reader.
FB has a third party app called friend caster, you can use hoot sweet, and one more third party app but I do not use it so sorry if its not beeing remember at this time. As far as net flix, no, net flix has not made their app accessible, no matter how much I tell them about the issues with accessibility. Yes, its netflix, who needs to fix their app, I will go rate them on the market and try one more time to bring it up to them.
right on, thanks!
